Jen & Zach had been friends for awhile before they knew they loved each other. Zach got to know Jen before she left to serve her mission in California. When she returned they started dating again! Their relationship seemed so sentimental, fun, and trusting. I was honored to be their photographer from their engagement photos up until their wedding.
These photos were so fun! We did these engagement photos in the middle of November – this was my first time shooting at the Spiral Jetty, and it has quickly become a favorite location of mine for engagement photos and bridal photos. Being a Logan, Utah wedding photographer, this spot is perfect. It has the salt flats look/feel to it. But without the 3 hour drive!
The unique thing about the Spiral Jetty is that at times, the water can look pink! This is because of a specific type of algae located at this part of the Great Salt Lake. How cool is that? For the last portion of their engagement photos Jen and Zach braved these cold waters! They decided that sticking their feet in these freezing temperatures was worth it for some epic photos in light pink waters!
If you’ve never been to the Spiral Jetty, it would make for a fun road trip! It is definitely a fun place to go adventure! Just make sure you pack extra water, food, and tell someone where you are going. There isn’t good service out there usually. Also, you will be driving on a dirt road for awhile until you arrive, so be prepared for that. The views are amazing – and very much worth the drive!

I can’t wait for the future sessions I have scheduled here! If YOU would like your photos taken here click HERE to schedule your shoot date and tell me what type of shoot you would like at this location! 😊
